I WANT TO BE YOUR BREAST FRIEND

I began my month thinking about breasts, breasts of all shapes and sizes. As the month went on, I still found myself thinking about breasts, including my own.  It is October, and October is breast cancer awareness month.

Although breast cancer is a leading cause of death in women would you believe that 1% of all diagnosed breast cancers are in men?  I know that may not appear to be a large number but it was enough to get me thinking about my own set and the importance of taking ownership of my health.

The Grande Prairie Auto Group and Auto Canada share my enthusiasm for healthy breasts…I knew I loved this company for a reason! If you stop in at any of our Grande Prairie Auto Group dealerships you can make a donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and receive a pink ribbon with your name on it, which will be proudly placed on our donor wall.

If you are need of any of the following products or services (oil and filter change, set of 4 tires, a vehicle inspection or wiper blades) the Grande Prairie Auto Group will also donate a portion of the proceeds to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, in fact we all love breasts so much that Auto Canada will match donations from each of our dealership family across the country!

Now do I have you thinking about breasts too? I certainly hope so.

In words of Nancy Reagan, “People should be afraid of the cancer, not the mammogram.”

Wishing you good health

Somthing To Think About

While laying wide awake in bed, watching the clock tick down every minute that I am losing out on that oh so important sleep I started thinking about the report  from Allstate Canada that I read earlier in the summer.

The report was based on a poll that was conducted for the Allstate Canada insurance company. This poll found that 75% of Canadian drivers do something other than focus on the road while behind the wheel. Everything from talking on a phone, texting, emailing, changing music, eating, drinking, or applying makeup, and yes even arguing with the calm voice coming from your GPS unit instructing you to make a U turn when it is safe, can be a big enough distraction to cause a fender bender or full fledged crash.  According to statics completed by a Ledger Market survey Albertans are the worst offenders of distracted driving.

Have we become a society that is in such demand the new generation has brought multi-tasking to a dangerous level?

Why this popped into my mind at 2 o'clock in the morning when all I wanted to think about were the sheep I had been trying to count as they jumped through my brain like they had all ingested several cans of red bull, I do not know. Could it have been the road rage I felt caused by that distracted jeep  driver that cut me off earlier today?

If you care to share your views with me on this topic I welcome and look forward to reading your comments.

All the best,

Corey
