Exciting Times In Grande Prairie

Travelling back home to Grande Prairie after attending the Hyundai conference in Vancouver I was amused  and entertained listening the conversation beside me at the airport. I quickly came to realize that light travels faster than sound for a reason; some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak. Well needless to say their conversation about how our economic times are changing did offer a bit of comic relief in an otherwise boring environment.

As random and off the mark as their conversation seemed to be, it did bring to light the fact that our economy has picked up and is defiantly headed in the right direction.  The Oil and Gas Industry, Forestry, Agriculture, Services and yes even the Car business are all on an upward trend tracking to exceed forecasts of two years ago. With Hyundai and Chrysler rolling out several new models for 2011 I think this will be an exciting year in the car business. Especially since the Grande Prairie Auto Group have the exclusive Air Miles program; with every new or quality used vehicle sold we can give our customers 1000 Air Miles!

With a new found excitement for the months ahead I am refreshed and ready to face the weather that Mother Nature is brewing up for all of us warm hearted Albertans!

Speaking of warm, it was defiantly not warm at our annual golf tournament, but the rain did manage to hold off until the 18th hole. It was a tight competition between Sawchy’s Stroke of Luck and Kaban’s Kerplunks, the Harry Putters came close with an almost hole in one at the hoola-hoop shot, team Foreplay won for hitting the shooter girls golf cart and team Close Enough’s really didn’t come close to winning at all! In the end all the putting string purchased, with the proceeds going to the Grande Prairie S.P.C.A., really paid off for Kaban’s Kerplunks as they ended with a final score of 17 under par! All in all it was day of bad weather, crappy golf and good fun!

Our 100 k give-a-way contest is growing daily with hopeful new entrants all with their eyes on the grand prize. It is easy to enter just log onto our website at http://www.gpautogroup.com/ and click on the 100k logo. Our next early bird draw will take place on Tuesday October 26th.

Until next time I leave you with this advice... "Do not argue with an idot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."

Welcome to My Blog

September 3, 2010

I am excited about the way social media has provided me a voice. There is so much to say and endless keys to hit on my well used Logitech keyboard.

My first order of business in this blog is to send out a big congratulations to Jessica who was our first early bird winner in our $100,000.00 give-a-way! Jessica will be in later today to claim her prize. I can't wait to hear how she is going to spend her new found fortune. Should we take a poll to see if she will spend the lot before the long weekend is over? Will the money be put towards a new or quality used vehicle at the Grande Prairie Auto Group or will she use it to deck out her current vehicle? Stay tuned to find out.

Now that school is back in session in Alberta, that only means one thing...yes the winter months are just ahead of us, lets hope the weather holds out and the snow has the good sense to stay away at least until Halloween.

Our company golf tournament is also just around the corner, September 12th to be exact. Right after the tournament I will be attending the annual Hyundai Canada meeting. I am sure I will come back with some great information on the plans and products for 2011.

I look forward to sharing my thoughts again, don't forget to enter the Grande Prairie Auto Group $100,000 give-a-way at www.gpautogroup.com. Once you enter you will be eligible for a $4.00 Oil Change...yes I did type that correctly...that is a $4.00 Oil Change!

Until next time,

Corey
